Supplier Development Engineer - Auburn Hills, MI Our client is an international leader in the design and manufacturing of high end systems and components for the automotive industry. They have been in business for more than 100 years, have multiple R&D sites across the globe and supply parts to the auto makers worldwide. As the organization continues to grow they are looking to add TWO Supplier Development Engineers to their Metallic business unit. One will be focused on supplier development & continuous improvement of stamped parts and springs while the other will be focused on steel machining and forging. This person will be expected to travel approx 50% primarily within the US, Canada and Mexico. Responsibilities: Supplier Development Process audit to evaluate the capability and the production capacity of the supplier Support Purchasing and R&D for the validation and introduction of new supplier according to quality, timing and cost requirements Continuous improvement Definition of supplier quality targets Responsible for developing an improvement action plan, executing and follow up Ability to manage quality crisis as a leader Support Purchasing in the key non-quality cost recovery initiatives Share best practices in supplier panel Qualifications: Mechanical Engineering Degree Minimum three years in a Quality role Automotive industry experience a plus Strong knowledge of stamped parts and springs manufacturing processes OR steel machining and forging processes Support to R&D and Purchasing in the definition of component family / technology requirements and feasibility for the supplier Ability to work within a multi-disciplinary and worldwide based team Ability to meet critical deadlines Ability to think independently, good communications skills, self-initiative, leadership and high energy Willing to travel (50%) Bilingual a plus To Apply - Please send a Word version of your resume to Once reviewed, our team will contact you regarding the next step.
