Eaton Aerospace has an opening for a Supplier Development
Engineer - PPAP.
This position is
responsible for developing the Global Eaton Aerospace Supplier Production Part
Approval Process (PPAP) process and leading the Eaton Aerospace Group through
implementation with the global supply base for New Product Introduction (NPI),
supplier transitions as well as the plant PPAP process deployment on legacy
part families.
Essential Functions:
- APQP/PPAP
subject matter expert and how it relates to Aerospace suppliers; low
volume/high mix.
- Lead
the development and implementation of the Global Eaton Aerospace supplier
Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) process for deployment in the supply
base. This includes a decision,
supporting guidance material and a workbook to effectively communicate how
supplier PPAP requirements should be identified and deployed for products
impacting NPI, Aerospace plant PPAP process and supplier transitions.
- Coordinate,
track and drive on-time completion of
actions through coordination with SDE’s and other relevant resources.
Leads/Participates in a cross-functional teams involving the supplier and Eaton
functions in order to seek flawless launch utilizing APQP techniques; acting as
a liaison between Product Development,
Supply Chain, Program Management, Sales Customer Service and Suppliers.
- Establish,
track and report Key Process Indicators (KPI) regarding PPAP deployment across
the supply chain.
- Support
corporate supplier consolidation/cost out initiatives for PPAP deployment, as
applicable.
- Additional
assignments, as applicable.
Qualifications
Basic Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s
degree from an accredited institution in a technical field
- Minimum
of 5 years of experience in manufacturing, quality, purchasing, and/or
engineering.
- Must
be authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship
- This
position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to
the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be

Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience
with AIAG PPAP Process and should involve exposure to Special Processes, NDT,
machining of metals and CNC machining operations such as boring, grinding and
broaching. Further experience in welding
and plating processes would be beneficial.
- Preferred
Training – APQP, PPAP, specifically Gage R&R/MSA, Quality auditing
- Knowledge
of basic problem solving and analysis tools such as Pareto, 8D, 5 Why, Fishbone
diagrams, etc.
- Knowledge
and Certification on Six Sigma Methodology.
- Knowledge
of industry specific quality registration schemes. i.e., ISO9001, AS9100,
NADCAP etc.
- Proven
success in a remote working environment.
- Self-Motivated
– eager to take initiative, not waiting for a lot of direction.
- Drive
for Results – communicating a vision, setting priorities, developing and
executing plans for PPAP deployment and then driving the Key Process Indicators
to achieve desired results.
- Strong
communication skills; both verbally and written are essential in this virtual
role.
