Pay Rate/Salary: $32.00-35.00 / Hour

  • Responsible for ensuring supplier quality problems are resolved in a timely and effective manner with out reoccurrence.

  • Responsible for monitoring key supplier measurable and work with those suppliers that require improvement.

  • Responsible for supplier quality activities and documentation as follows: PPAPs, Run at Rate, QPA audits, SPR (supplier score card), CQI Audits, Technical Review audits, Supplier Quality System Surveillance Audits, New Business on Hold (NBOH) and Site Metrics information.

  • Responsible for evaluating new suppliers and develop existing suppliers in support of Purchasing activities.

  • Responsible for ensuring supplier changes and deviations are managed within established process.

  • Responsible for providing responses and/or evidence to auditors (1st or 3rd party) during internal audits or external audits.

  • Knowledge:

  • Experience in problem solving techniques (8D, 5-whys, Fishbone diagram, Design of Experiments)

  • Effective oral and written communication skills and ability to lead team(s) at a supplier location.

  • Ability to read technical drawings, understand dimensional stack ups, and have a working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)

  • Understanding of key quality core tools (D/P FMEA, APQP, SPC, Control Plan, Flow Diagram, Measurement System Analysis and PPAP)

  • Understanding of TS16949 requirements.

  • Types of Problems/Complexities:

  • Parts/material that do not meet specification or are significantly different from previously approved. Frequency of occurrence of these issues is approximately 3 per week. Problem should be contained within 24 hours and resolved in 15 days

  • Changes or deviations from supplier that require immediate decision to use, rework, sort or not use parts/materials. Frequency of occurrence of these issues is approx. 2 per year. Must be handled quickly and involve engineering and plant manufacturing.

  • Supplier on site management of quality issue where the supplier meets requirements, yet parts/materials do not function/perform properly in manufacturing process or at Customer process.

  • Accountability

  • Reviewed weekly and monthly by Manager review of quality metrics and supplier 8D responses
