Adecco Direct Hire is recruiting on behalf of our esteemed client in the Transformer Service industry for the position of Support Engineer in the Jackson, Tennessee area. A four year electrical or mechanical engineering degree is required for this role. Qualified candidates need to have experience with high voltage equipment, as well as transformers. In this role, the Support Engineer will be required to make drawings, do designs, and minor troubleshooting. Our client is offering a very competitive base salary, as well as full benefits. The duties and responsibilities of this role are as follows: The Support Engineer is responsible for providing customized engineering solutions for Asset Management projects, mainly transformer component retrofit projects. He will conduct occasional site visits, collect and revise technical documentation. The Support Engineer will design customized engineering solutions on a case-by-case basis. He will support and consult the sales team, production, suppliers and customers with his technical expertise. Responsibilities: Review technical customer inquiry documents; interpretate drawing intent and provision of referenced standards (DIN, ANSI, etc.). Conceptual solution engineering for customized retrofitting of on-load tap-changers Prepare conceptual dimensional and production drawings Producing details of specification and outline designs; Prepare concept drawings Discuss and solve complex problems with design and manufacturing departments, sub-contractors, suppliers and customers Select and qualify external parties for the detailed design and manufacturing of parts (e.g. LTC adapter tank, adapter plate, oil piping, installation options of transformer accessories etc.) Conduct regular meeting with other departments or external parties to review work progress Coordination of minor product changes (Engineering / Purchasing / Quality / Production) Prepare internal reports Ensure on-time delivery or availability of designed parts Providing technical support and after-sales services to designated customers and information to sales team Support Sales (OPP/OPS) in regards to writing Investigation Reports on major issues in the field Troubleshooting for field issues Requirements: University degree in electrical engineering / basic mechanical knowledge Expert techncial knowledge about high-voltage equipment (ideally power transformers) Minimum 5 years of work experience in the field of engineering in an industrial environment Experience with failure analyses, troubleshooting and quality assurance measures and report writing Advanced skills in working with 2D drafting software (e.g. AutoCAD, Solid Works, ProE, CATIA, etc.) Hands-on experience in the installation and assembly of mechanical components Knowledge of metal cutting and welding Additionally, qualified applicants must be willing to occassional overnight travel, and must have a team player mentality.
