Exelon Nuclear is looking for a Supervisor of Fire & Rescue Training at our Services and Training Center in Wilmington, IL (65 miles SW of Chicago, IL)


PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION 
Functionally or directly supervises/directs training groups and demonstrates mastery of skills and extensive subject matter knowledge in carrying out assignments associated with the analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation of fire and rescue training programs. 

PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
-Drives personnel performance improvement through the use of training. Schedules, coordinates and conducts performance-based training programs as required in accordance with Exelon
s TSD model and department procedures. 
-Assures the training programs are maintained current and incorporate information gained from INPO and Exelon significant operating experience reports, NRC circulars, bulletins, and information notices, plant design change and backfit information, plant procedure changes and revisions, new regulations, and training effectiveness reports. 
-Coordinates the efforts of instructors in the development and conduct of training. 
-Participates in NRC, INPO and management audits, and prepares responses to audit findings. 
-Supports fleet in the areas of business initiatives, project management, EP duties and special projects. 
-Provides expertise in the implementation of the training systems development process by directing and counseling instructors as assigned by the manager. 
-Performs supervisory duties for assigned personnel. 

POSITION SPECIFICATIONS
Minimum:
-High School Diploma and 10+ yrs experience with 5 at the exempt level
or
-Associates Degree Fire Sciences and 8+ years experience
-Meet the requirements of National Fire Protection National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) 1001 Standard for Fire Firefighter Professional Qualifications, Firefighter level II
-Meet the requirements of NFPA 1041 Standard for Fire Service Instructor Professional Qualifications, Instructor level II
-Meet the requirements of NFPA 472, Standard for Professional Competence of responders to Hazardous Materials Incidents at the technician level
-Meet the requirements of NFPA 1006 Standard for Rescue Technician Professional Qualifications in appropriate rescue disciplines
-2+ years experience as an Instructor
-Experience in power plant operations
-Working knowledge of applicable regulations; NRC, OSHA, NFPA
Preferred:
-Experience as a member of a community emergency response organization 
-Strong working knowledge of TSD process activities, and regulatory requirements
-Completion of Exelon fire brigade, hazardous materials team, and confined space rescue team training
