Overland Park Regional Medical Center is currently looking for a Registered Nurse Clinical Educator - OR/Surgery.
Overland Park Regional Medical Center is one of the premiere medical facilities in Johnson County. Responsibilities
- The Educator functions as an educational and clinical resource for Operating Room personnel. Educational services include the development, coordinating and/or teaching of educational programs designed to meet the needs of the professional and nonprofessional personnel and which are in accordance with the goals and objectives of Overland Park Regional Medical Center , the Operating Room Department, and AORN standards. The Educator will function as an informal consultant to facilitate holistic care of patients and their families/significant other. He/she will also be actively involved as a planner, facilitator and/or participant in any ongoing nursing/research specifically related to the operating room patient population.
Education: Bachelor's degree required. Graduate degree in healthcare related field preferred
Licensure/Certifications: Current Kansas license or certification in area of specialty required. Demonstrates knowledge and practical application of theories and principles of AORN standards, and ASPAN standards preferred. Experience in perioperative education ideal, though not a prerequisite. Demonstrates professional growth, initiative and creativity.
Experience: A minimum of three years in OR/Surgery experience. Experience in teaching in an academic or healthcare related field preferred.
