*Transports patients, specimens, supplies, blood and equipment as directed.
*Ensure all procedures are followed for the safe transport of blood and other specimens.
*Responsible for transporting patients and family to holding area or waiting rooms.
*Observes and communicates to OR desk or Charge Nurse any changes such as patient not being ready. Immediately reports any changes in patient's condition during transport.
*May be required to take emergency action as needed.
*Helps to move and position patients in the Surgical Suite as needed.
*Completes required documentation. (Approximately 50% of duties.)
*Performs cleaning of operating rooms during turnover.
*Follows established procedures and guidelines for cleaning operating rooms.
*Performs daily and/or weekly cleaning within the Surgical Suites.
*Maintains the cleanliness of the department which includes cleaning hallways, bathrooms, lounges and supply areas.
*Complies with all relevant procedures and regulations related to hospital sanitation, cleanliness and safety.
*Uses all cleaning products and equipment appropriately and safely.
*Ensures that all procedures and regulations for proper disposal of waste items and material are followed. *Responsible for restocking supplies, linens and solutions.
*Performs other support services as requested. (Approximately 50% of duties.)
*Experience: One year of experience in healthcare.
*Certification: BLS Healthcare Provider. Must be obtained within 30 days of starting in this position.
