Memorial's Level ll Trauma Center provides all-inclusive care for the critically injured patient using a multi-disciplinary approach. With stateof-the-art trauma bays, 24/7 availability of OR/radiology/IR, we provide coverage by trauma, orthopedics, neurosurgery, oral /maxillofacial, ophthalmology, ear nose and throat (ENT), plastic surgery and other specialties
The OR ST-Service Coordinator assists in providing the delivery of care in the assigned area of surgical specialty. His/her primary functions involve energetically and dynamically supporting the staff and physicians in acquiring the necessary equipment and training to deliver evidence based surgical interventions. Interacts in a timely manner with vendors to secure necessary equipment and products as driven by the daily schedule. The ST-Services Coord will communicate directly with the OR Resource Nurse/Clinical Lead and surgeons to coordinate the introduction of new products. He/she will coordinate with the Assist Director and Director in the investigation and recommendation of capital equipment. The OR ST-Service Coord will be a resource to staff and leadership on current practice issues within their specialty.
Coordinates in collaboration with the OR Resource Nurse/Clinical Lead and the Clinical Educator with the orientation of new Surgery Staff in that specialty.
Leads efforts to improve processes and to monitor quality in surgical specialty.
Performs the duties of surgical tech in addition to resource person.
Serves as a resource with a high level of knowledge and competence in the assigned area of surgical specialty.
Assures that necessary supplies and equipment are available for scheduled cases.
Coordinates new product trials with the OR Supply Chain Manager.
Effectively interacts with vendors for the investigation and acquisition of new products and equipment .
Graduate of Technical School
American Heart Association BLS Health Care Provider,
5yrs OR experience in Specialty
Special or additional competencies or qualifications:
Must be proficient in Specialty area, Organizational skills, good communication skills
