Job Summary:
Provides technical support for the power generation business group. Works with customers as well as sales teams, service, Cummins Power Generation and outside vendors in order to perform/oversee complex start-ups. This role will support South Carolina, North Carolina and Virginia. Ideal candidate will be located within this territory.

Essential Functions:
  • Provides technical support for the power generation project management and sales groups as well as internal and external customer contacts at various project stages including submittal, pre-delivery, installation and project start-up
  • Provides engineering support services to contractors, consultant and end-users in application and installation of Gensets, paralleling systems and related equipment
  • Utilizes various software platforms including but not limited to MS Office, BMS, CPG Power Suite, Gensize, Cummins Order Status, Concept, and Advantec to manage project logistics and schedules
  • Utilizes AutoCAD and various other specialized software applications to generate technical drawings and calculations
  • Directly manages large scope and high profile start-ups in collaboration with project management and sales groups
  • Coordinates resources to assure timely, accurate and cost-effective start-up and commissioning of complex start-ups
  • Interfaces with customer, vendors and internal contacts to effectively communicate technical issues that impede start-up progress and affect project schedules
  • Maintains technical and product knowledge proficiency with respect to market requirements
  • Perform technical reviews on new complex projects
  • Provides technical support and training to project managers to expedite customer information flows and elevate department technical skill and comprehension level

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Electrical Engineering degree or a minimum of 10 years experience with emergency power systems start-ups
  • Understanding of general and electrical contracting industries
  • Ability to interpret technical documents, specifications and drawings
  • Knowledge of, or experience in, electrical construction and/or installations and standard practice, specifically power generation applications
  • Knowledge of National Electrical Code
  • Experience in electro/mechanical field service
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
