Under general supervision, install, configure, and maintain enterprise application software. Perform software installation and upgrades to application servers and layered software packages. Create scripts and coding that customizes and/or integrates the applications with software solutions. Maintain, monitor, and tune the systems to achieve optimum performance levels following established IS policies and procedures.
System Administrator Skills/Accountabilities include:
Process Administration. Create, document, maintain, execute, and monitor specific package policies, processes, procedures, and standards for installation, change, maintenance, security, and use of the software system.
Vendor Relationships. Maintain vendor relations and work effectively with vendors for initial installation, problem resolution, patches, upgrades, etc. Communicate regularly with vendors.
Architecture. Identify, document, and maintain software system architecture.
System Analysis. Perform systems analysis, including, requirements gathering, analysis and design, and specifications to proactively and strategically recommend improvements to the system and evaluate vendors and products in a manner that will allow the company to attain technical leadership in the software system.
Configuration. Configure software package to meet business user and developer needs. Configure the OS server services to assure the effective operation of the software package. Maintain production and development environments.
Development. Design, code, develop test plans, test, and implement customizations of the package to meet business needs and to interface with other systems. Test and install vendor patches. Provide API and data dictionary information assistance. Provide integration services with other packages, such as data cross-walks, programmatic extracts, and imports.
Product Support. Develop, maintain, and execute support triage procedures. Conduct troubleshooting and determine actual cause of system or application failure through a scientific method and create and implement the appropriate solutions.
Three years in software package support and server administration
Open databases (Sybase, MS SQL Server, etc.)
Problem triage and trouble-shooting procedures
Network and software architecture
Windows Server Administration
Develop program code & scripting
Team and project management
Configure package software
Methodically analyze and solve problems
Develop process and application system documentation
Determine and implement functional requirements
Analyze, develop and execute test plans
Collaborate with software vendors for system support
Communicate effectively orally and in writing
Bachelors degree in computer sciences or related courses in business administration
Experience in the specific software or software category that the position will support, i.e. SharePoint, Captiva, WS02, Docfinity, or StreamWeaver technologies
Knowledge of Health Insurance business processes and requirements
