• Administers and maintains agency wide computer systems, servers, storage, and related computing environments, including computer hardware, Windows infrastructure, systems software, applications software and configurations to ensure stable operation and performance. Determines needs for upgrades and repairs; conducts capacity planning and technical design; monitors system security; and, evaluates system performance.

• Plans, designs and installs the VMWare virtual server and desktop infrastructure; responsible for day-to-day operations, maintenance and troubleshooting.

• Plans, designs and implements server projects including the installation, maintenance and upgrades of regional office and support servers such as, disaster recovery, server replication, software update distribution servers, virus definition distribution servers, and local file servers.

• Installs and maintains both hardware and software related to storage management; responsible for day-to-day operations including troubleshooting and resolving issues with data storage services and devices and server disk capacity.

• Maintains documentation of system infrastructure including policies and procedures, configurations and performance. Performs and tests routine system backups and restores.

• Provides technical and end-user support including research, analysis, troubleshooting and resolution of a variety of non-routine to complex issues related to software, hardware, network and operating systems, communications, and servers in response to requests submitted to the IT Helpdesk.

• Provides guidance and technical support to other IT staff, which may include prioritizing, assigning and reviewing work and training on work methods; and, serves as an agency wide expert and resource to staff and managers in matters related to area of specialty.

• Participates in the division planning, design and implementation of projects for the agency's IT infrastructure.

• Conducts research on emerging products, services, trends and standards in technology; recommends upgrades and procurement of products to maintain and enhance systems for the enterprise systems and infrastructure.

• Performs other related duties as needed such as, the planning and implementation of new server and/or workstation roll-outs; and, the design, implementation and maintenance of infrastructure used to automate imaging of computers and laptops.
