Supports the installation, configuration and maintenance of the organization's mainframe or mid-frame operating systems.
Checks event logs, server health.
Works independently and with other team members.
Works directly with the Service Desk on second level support issues.
Instructs first level support on common issues.
Works with project teams on new technology initiatives.
Maintains a secure, resilient environment, that includes Active Directory, File Servers, Printers, Storage, and any other network attached devices.
Installs, configures and maintains workstations and all servers.
Schedules installations and upgrades.
Develops and maintains a comprehensive operating system hardware and software configuration database/library of all supporting documentation.
Installs new software releases, system upgrades. Evaluates and installs patches and resolves software-related problems.
Troubleshoots networking and operating system problems.
Performs system backups and recovery.
Maintains data files and monitors system configuration to ensure data integrity. Monitors and fine-tunes the system to achieve optimum performance levels. Conducts routine hardware and software audits.
High School Diploma, GED or Equivalent Certification
2 years of experience in Windows Server 2000 and 2003
1 year of experience in Active Directory administration, System backups
2 years of experience in Server Hardware - HP/Compaq/Dell
Bachelors Degree in Computer Science
5 years of experience in Windows Server 2000 and 2003
2 years of experience in Active Directory administration, System backups
