Company located in downtown Baltimore in need of a strong Senior Systems Engineer who will be the technical lead for our corporate global Infrastructure. This engineer will be tasked with 3 main roles: manage servers, provide backup support infrastructure, and implement/administer various 3rd party products that will enable the business This is an ideal opportunity for someone who likes to be hands-on from designing, implementing, and administering solutions and is eager to learn. Day-to-day Responsibilities: Architect, deploy, and maintain Windows systems, DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, and other core infrastructure components in a global enterprise environment Administer 3rd Party Applications e.g., Perforce, Unity, and Solarwinds Ensure that the storage infrastructure is never the bottleneck and the data is safeguarded Implement and support next generation storage, servers, and network hardware to match company growth Diagnose, resolve, triage, or delegate problems as they arise with little supervision Ability to independently analyze problems, research potential technical solutions, evaluate alternatives, and present recommendations to the leadership team Analyze inefficiencies in the enterprise from a holistic view Collaborate across teams on detailed technical requirements, implementation approaches and problem solving Mentor fellow team members in areas of expertise Create documentation detailing procedures and controls Work to create process and procedures around technology Maintain updated system documentation and diagrams and create SOP as needed Provide periodic metrics and KPI's to management Requirements: 5+ years of SENIOR-LEVEL EXPERIENCE administering enterprise-class infrastructures Strong knowledge of Windows 2003/2008/2012 operating systems and Active Directory Experience managing enterprise storage (e.g. SAN/NAS, NFS, CIFS, iSCSI, and fibre channel) with multi-site footprint Senior-level proficiencies implementing and administering a global multi-cluster VMware vSphere ESXi 5 or above infrastructure Experience working with source code software (e.g. Perforce, Subversion, and Git) Proven history of proactively taking ownership of projects and problems when they arise Proven ability to successfully navigate and perform in a deadline-driven, fast-paced environment, and effectively multi-task multiple priorities in a team-oriented setting Strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently on projects and cooperatively with the rest of the team Possess a personality to think outside the box and question the status quo with a continuous system improvement mindset Availability to support a 24/7 operation is required Minimum travel might be required For immediate consideration, call Alex Frey on 410-783-6290 or email your resume to firstname.lastname@example.org.
