This role provides exemplary customer service by processing group disability income insurance claims in a timely and accurate manner.

 

    

 

 

  • Handles inbound new claim intake calls for STD/FMLA and LTD claims.
  • Appropriately documents systems with conversations had with employee, employers and health care providers.
  • Provide claims status updates including approvals, denials, closures and appeal decisions.
  • Provide information on next steps in STD claims process including the need for medical information, appeals process and RTW discussions.
  • Fax medical requests to Health Care Providers  upon request.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned or required.

 


Required Qualifications

  • 1-3 years of experience in claims or customer service
  • Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively, both written and verbal
  • High School Diploma/GED

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent analytical, decision making and problem solving skills
  • Highly self-motivated
  • Working knowledge of FMLA/Disability/Leave procedures
  • Familiarity with STD regulatory requirements
  • Ability to look in multiple databases while assisting on the phone
  • Excel skills preferred
