About the Opportunity
In the Tax Reconciliation Analyst role at Pitney Bowes, you will be a key member of a team of tax professionals that is responsible for the reporting and payment of Sales, Use, Property and License taxes in all US states. Opportunities to streamline processes and improve efficiencies will be ongoing in an effort to capitalize on recent ERP and tax engine innovations. In this role, you'll join our GAO Division and will report to the Sales Tax Supervisor. You will be responsible for:
•\tAnalyze variances to plan, forecast and prior year periods in sufficient detail to ensure accuracy of the income statement and balance sheet.
•\tParticipate in the preparation of month-end accruals, provisions and make journal entries as necessary to ensure the accuracy and completeness of the financial statements in accordance with GAAP.
•\tPrepare analyses for the balance sheet results on a monthly basis.
•\tPrepare analytical reports to support month-end balances and/or activity that affect the income statement and balance sheet.
•\tThrough analytics, make recommendations and help implement actions required to correct or enhance processes.
•\tA four year Bachelor's degree in accounting, CPA/MBA a plus.
•\tA minimum of three - five years of prior accounting experience.
•\tExperience in General Ledger Account Analysis
•\tExperience with Transactional Tax preparation and filing
•\tStrong PC skills to include Word, Access and Excel.
•\tGeneral knowledge of accounting methods, principles and practices and the ability to apply this knowledge appropriately in situations under the guidance of management.
•\tGeneral understanding of overall business unit accounting operations.
•\tEffective, professional verbal and written communication skills.
•\tAbility to focus on details and perform functions with accuracy.
