We currently have an exciting opening for a dynamic Global Product Line and US Project (GPL&USP) Team Construction Safety Engineer to join our Global Supply Systems (GSS) organization in Tonawanda, NY. This position will be responsible for supporting construction safety activities of Praxair’s US project team:

Team Construction Safety Engineer Responsibilities
  • Supporting development and periodic update of the annual regional safety plan
    Developing and executing training program for field construction management personnel
  • Visit job sites, perform safety inspections and proactive support of the execution team
  • Providing support to reporting and investigating incidents and accidents and performing / leading RCAs (as needed)
  • Developing and delivering training programs; inspecting sites for compliance with OSHA and local rules
  • Providing feedback to the organization on safety improvement
  • Assisting in the contractor qualification process
  • Supporting the Region in implementing requirements and improving overall Safety standards
  • Conducting periodic Safety Meetings on construction safety topics designed to communicate safety related matters, policies, and procedures
  • Facilitating Safety training for GPL&USP employees as per the Safety Matrix

  • B.S. degree (engineering preferred) additional Occupational Health and Safety qualification or equivalent experience
  • 10 years of progressive Safety experience with at least 5 years of field / on-site experience in construction
  • Understanding of OSHA & knowledge of Federal and State health and safety regulations
  • Excellent time management & the ability to work with little to no supervision
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong Computer skills, MS Office required
  • Demonstrated ability to work with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Ability to travel of up to 50%
