The Production Team Leader is responsible for people, production and equipment safety and managing production costs. Team leader is responsible for maintaining positive employee relations and the fair and consistent application of plant policies and rules. Incumbents must actively support Nestle Continuance Excellence initiatives. A high level of knowledge of the production operations is required.
Insure a safe and clean environment, supporting Behavorial Based Safety.
Attend Safety and PEO Team meetings.
Conduct safety meetings for your team.
Participate in safety counseling with employees.
Quality & Sanitation:
Conduct walk-through inspection of department areas.
Work with operators to achieve quality parameters and targets.
Ensure that Master Sanitation items are completed.
Coordinate product changeovers with material handling, processing, packing and quality assurance.
Strive to meet daily production demands.
Conduct performance appraisals of employees.
Recognize excellence and reward
Coach and counsel employee performance
Training and development of team members.
Production Manager: inform of any concerns and learn of any future processing goals.
Quality Assurance: keep informed of product quality and any changes that occur. Communicate with department to ensure a smooth operation of the production process.
Operation Planner: keep informed of production needs and schedule changes
Maintenance: Inform maintenance of issues and confer about repairs
Material Handling, Processing, Packing - Keep informed about current issues
Human Resources – timely notification to the HR Manager of any HR concerns.
Other duties as assigned.
Adhere to policies and procedures set forth in the Team Manual and Department Operating plan.

Minimum of 3 years in a manufacturing environment or other area that an individual has had to manage processes. 3 years in a supervisory experience required. A strong mechanical aptitude is mandatory
The incumbent must be able to lead and manage people and processes. The leader must communicate effectively with all levels of the organization, up to and including divisional managers. The position requires a certain amount of interaction with outside contractors and vendors
