Position Description

Business Services Company (BSC) position at PHI. Performs Energy Management System (EMS) system integration, hardware and software installation, configuration and disposition of servers and workstations to support the architecture. Provides problem resolution and technical support for the EMS and related systems. Provides support for the design, validation and configuration management of the EMS and related systems. Administers user's system access to meet security requirements. Monitors system performance to support capacity planning, backup and disaster recovery planning. The individual will be required to manage installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of hardware and software to ensure 99% availability for all system users.

Position Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline and typically 8 to 10 years of experience in Information Technology or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
Knowledge and experience supporting and administering Real-Time Systems and/or SCADA applications
In-depth understanding of Unix/Linux and Windows operating systems
Experience demonstrating skill implementing, operating, and maintaining databases such as Oracle, SQL Server, and OSISoft PI
Experience demonstrating programming skills and/or scripting languages such as C, C++,JAVA, PERL, shell scripts
Experience monitoring, investigating, and troubleshooting systems in a timely manner to ensure little to no effect on user's daily functions
Ability to effectively communicate orally and in writing highly technical information in nontechnical terminology
Understanding of change management principles associated with new technology implementations
Demonstrated leadership ability
Experience coordinating activities among various departments and external entities.
Experience writing procedures and documentation
Ability and willingness to work unscheduled extended hours and overtime
Ability and willingness to travel to various corporate locations.
Ability and willingness to be on-call 24x7 on a rotating basis.

Certifications in Linux Administration
Knowledge and experience supporting and administering GE XA/21 or GE Power-On Reliance Energy Management Systems product lines
Knowledge and experience involving communication protocols, such as DNP and ICCP
Knowledge and experience of cyber security practices
