The LinkedIn Learning Solutions Content Team is looking for a Technical Editor II who will be responsible for editing training material and promotional copy for the Learning Content and Production department. The Technical Editor II uses their skills to drive accuracy and consistency across our training, allowing the learning content to be clear and consumable for people identifying new skills to advance their careers.
This position requires a high degree of flexibility and the ability to work well with stakeholders to reinforce unified written voice for the LinkedIn Learning product.

  • Copy edit text-based course graphics such as slides and storyboards for 25-35 courses per week
  • Copy edit TOCs and video-level descriptions
  • Copy edit course descriptions and author bios
  • Copy edit text-based exercise files such as handouts
  • Research and fact-check to ensure accuracy and consistency across all written materials
  • Deliver copyedited material to content owners using provided tools
  • Receive and incorporate feedback from multiple stakeholders into copy edits
  • Publish copyedited text to site
  • Edit data in a variety of database interfaces
  • Follow guidelines and best practices
  • Perform other copyediting work as required
Basic qualifications:
  • 3 + years of editing or copy editing experience
  • Editing or copy editing experience in either instructional or technical content
  • B.A. or higher in Journalism, English, or related field; or equivalent experience
Preferred qualifications:
  • Advanced skills in copy editing and presentation of language
  • Advanced proofreading skills (grammar, spelling, punctuation)
  • Advanced knowledge of The Chicago Manual of Style and comparable industry style guides
  • Advanced knowledge of internal guidelines and best practices
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Organized and capable of working on multiple, complex work streams, both course and non-course related
  • Excellent creative and critical thinking skills
  • Experience in receiving, applying, and providing constructive criticism
  • High level of adaptability
  • Advanced knowledge in business, creative, and/or technical fields
  • Proficient with software like Apple iWork, Microsoft Office products, and Adobe Acrobat
  • Proficient in a broad range of software terms, vocabulary, and computing concepts
  • Experience writing/editing basic HTML and CSS
  • Experience using project management software
  • Familiarity with instructional design and online learning techniques
  • Familiarity with SEO best practices
