What You'll Do
As a key member of the Optics Technology & Quality team, the candidate will be responsible for assessing, developing and qualifying new suppliers and technologies for next generation optical products.
Primary responsibilities include -
Technical capability evaluation of optical suppliers including deep dive assessments of emerging technologies and their viability
Design and process reviews/audits to ensure design robustness, quality and manufacturing readiness
Assess Reliability risk, develop and execute to product Qualification plans and resolve technical issues
Assess business impacting/critical issues and drive component failure analysis, containment and corrective action
Process Part Number Requests (PNRs), component change management (PCN/MCN), RoHS/safety certificates, and other component qualification specific activities
Who You'll Work With
Partner with Global Supply Management teams to develop commodity strategy and provide technical inputs to the RFI/RFQ process
Who You Are
Successful candidate will be experienced in -
Optical Transceiver design and assembly particularly in Optoelectronic packaging processes
Optical Component-level Failure Analysis and manufacturing-related issues
Laser/VCSEL/PD chip fabrication and reliability qualification experience highly desired
Familiarity with latest Optical Transceiver technologies, including Silicon Photonics and Advanced modulations
Possesses a good understanding of Optical Transceiver supplier ecosystem, emerging suppliers and industry roadmap
Demonstrated ability working in cross-functional teams and with external suppliers/partners
Good communication, project management and influencing skills
Qualifications: MS (minimum) or PhD (preferred) in an Engineering/technical discipline (Optical Engineering is highly preferred) with a minimum of 10+ years of relevant experience in Optics.
