What You'll Do
You will lead and collaborate with peers from the Enterprise, Datacenter and Service Provider segments to help drive Transceiver Module Group (TMG) roadmap and future development. You will have ownership of the technical marketing function for Cisco's transceiver product line. You will create collateral, including white papers, articulate and promote product portfolio, value proposition and roadmap to key audiences including product management and technical marketing teams across Cisco segments, field teams and customers and engage with global sales teams to facilitate product ramp and sales. This will include traveling to Cisco Live events, OFC and other tradeshows related to optical transceivers. You will manage cross-functional relationships for bringing new products to market - including working with engineering, manufacturing, finance and sales. You will engage with various external Standards bodies such as IEEE & OIF and help define features for optimal system performance.

The Transceiver Module Business Group manages pluggable Transceiver Modules for Data Center, Multi-layered Enterprise Campus, Access, Metro, Carrier Ethernet, and Storage networking applications across Cisco switching and routing platforms. Pluggable transceivers offer a flexible, reliable and cost-effective solution to deploy and upgrade network connectivity.
Who You Are
You are a dynamic, success driven, entrepreneurial technical marketing engineer who plays a key role in the success of Cisco's optical transceiver product portfolio. You'll have spent 5+ years in product/technology marketing with demonstrable success creating thought leadership in a new market.
Our minimum requirements for this role:
- Technical background including a general understanding of networking and Cisco products and services.
- Specific knowledge of or prior experience of Optical transceivers, and an understanding of Cisco's switching and routing portfolio
- Hands-on experience in bring-up and testing of Optical transceivers on Cisco switches and routers
- Experience with writing white papers
- Ability to build relationships with peers and among Cisco sales and systems engineering staff, cross functional stakeholders, vendor partners and customers.
