Develops hypothetical business plans by investigation and analysis of new potential markets and technology trends. The plans fit to strength of Panasonic products, for example, battery, power electronics, sensor, semi-conductor and so on. Grasps customer needs in the targeted new areas of the plans. Makes the plans clearer by considering both the customer needs and the Panasonic strength. Makes specifications of development items and missing technology to realize the plan. Communicates with the associated Panasonic organizations and engineers to determine the specification to make new development themes. Creates Proof of Concept (PoC) demonstration using new technology for potential customers and gets customer feedback. Revises the hypothetical plans and the specifications of the development themes based on the customer feedbacks. Continues this cycle for improving the hypothetical plans. Goal is to propose new development themes needed to create new business and executing PoC activities with engineers in Japan.
Investigate and analyze technology/market trend : Investigate macro information, market/technology trend and competitor positioning. Determines hypothetical plans of potential business area, customer and development target.
Make proposal to potential customer : With co-workers’ collaboration, search and determines appropriate product and technology for target customer. Contact target customer or business partner and with selected product and technology, make proposals to potential customers. Grasp customer needs in target areas through proposal activities.
Clarify needed technology and specifications for development : Revise the hypothetical plans based on the customer needs. Make needed development technology items. Determine which internal / external organization to collaborate with for each technology items. Create development themes and make specification of development with related internal engineering team.
Proof of Concept (PoC) activity and development in US :
Execute local development activities with external partners. Working with internal engineering team and external partners, execute local development activities and prepare initial sample for demonstration and plan to have PoC opportunity (field test, evaluation of demonstration sample etc).
Receive feedback or request from customer and share with internal engineering team. Revise the product feature or specification of development. Keep effort on updating cycle for further clarification of the specifications.
What You’ll Bring:
Education & Experience :
- Bachelors in Electrical Engineering required ( technology background is preferred) or advanced degree desired
- Five or more years of specific technology development experience is required.
- Experience in hardware technology development of power electronics system or sensor system or semiconductor is preferred.
- Strong analytical skill is e required, including statistical modeling and trend analysis
- Strong ability to operate PC and appropriate social networking services
- Strong interpersonal relationship building skills are essential.
- Self driven ability to contact new customers or development partner to draw out information necessary for new development
- Passion and tenacity for new business creation is required
- Ability to create and propose new development themes
- Strong written, negotiation, and oral communication capabilities, including major presentations to high-level internal/external contacts, are required
- Aggressive communication attitude with other Panasonic organizations globally
- Ability to influence and work with internal product and engineering team and external partners
Other Requirements :
- 30% travel required. Some International Travel required.
