Monsanto is seeking a highly motivated individual to partner with independent seed companies supporting an integrated yield system offering encompassing germplasm, traits, Seed Applied Solutions and data science technologies.  As the Technical Product Representative, you will work collaboratively with the Seed Account Managers, Account Specialists and Monsanto technical teams to deliver innovative yield system solutions to assigned accounts.
Responsibilities:
  • Develop pre-commercial and commercial corn product expertise within assigned geography through data analysis and in-field trial observations
  • Collaborate with Commercial Breeders and internal product teams to characterize performance across the corn belt and within assigned geography to deliver the newest products and technology as identified through the needs assessment process for each assigned account
  • Assist in product portfolio management for each assigned account identifying corn product needs and placement within sales geography with accountability to deliver increased germplasm and trait volume penetration in line with Long Range Plan objectives
  • Maintain supply reliability throughout the supply chain including accurate forecasting and seedstock order fulfillment for each assigned account
  • Collaborate with Seed Account Managers and local Monsanto technical teams to develop a customized, integrated yield system and knowledge transfer strategy for assigned accounts.
Required Skills/Experience:

  • BS degree in Agronomy or related field with 5 years industry experience including knowledge of germplasm or equivalent experience and skill set
  • General agronomic and germplasm knowledge with experience in approaches to germplasm improvement
  • Excellent interpersonal skills in order for effective problem solving and coordination of information
  • Complementary technical and account management skill set
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to communicate between technical and non-technical audiences and across multi-disciplinary teams
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Understanding of current market needs and conditions
  • Ability to accommodate up to 50% travel domestically

Desired Skills/Experience:

  • MS or PhD in Agronomy, Plant Breeding or related field
  • Team leadership skills including excellent coaching and organizational skills
  • Strategic planning skills and experience
