We are seeking a Technical Writer to support the creation, modification and maintenance of system related documentation to include software development life-cycle management and security documentation for a DHS project. The Technical Writer shall also be involved in the development of application user guides, reference material, training guides, presentations and varying policy related documents. Other documentation will vary but could include environment cataloguing, documenting system requirements, generating manual reports and other similar documentation requirements.
The project will involve supporting a robust SharePoint collaboration platform as well as the platform for a number of individual applications and tools that enable users to perform their jobs in support of their mission. This work requires sustaining a large variety of tools and technologies leveraged by these applications. Over the course of the project, we will leverage new technical features to expand the capabilities of the applications to support the business and the mission functions.
Skills and Experience:
• At least five years of technical writing experience, specifically system related documentation and user/training guides
• Passion for ensuring customer satisfaction through creating high quality, useful project documentation
• Experience supporting SDLC requirements of federal agencies preferred
• Must bring positive attitude, a customer-focused perspective, and a strong desire for team success
Education: Bachelor's degree strongly preferred
