We are looking for a Technical Writer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for partnering with engineering and operations teams to help plan, write, and edit internal engineering documentation at LinkedIn.
This position is full-time and will be based in our Sunnyvale office.
Job Responsibilities •Research, design, write, update, review, and test user information under the guidance of the manager or senior writers. •Write/integrate specific components of user information sets. •Coordinate activities with other writers, including gathering technical information, reviewing project documents, developing simple schedules, keeping schedules current, and meeting completion dates. •Learn how to scope, estimate, and schedule more complex projects. •Obtain user information reviews. Interview software and test engineers to obtain technical information. •Participate in usability testing of products and documentation. •Create or obtain examples, illustrations, and screen captures.
Application Requirements •To be considered for this role, you must provide 2-3 samples of your writing with an explanation of what your role was for each sample.
Basic Qualifications •B. or B. . in Technical Communications, Computer Science, or a related field
Preferred Qualifications •Excellent written and oral communication skills •Strong work ethic and drive for high-quality results •Strong organizational skills •Prior experience in Internet technology •Experience with software development practices and tools (such as Git and command-line interfaces) •Experience working with engineering teams •Knowledge of Python, Java, or other programming language •Experience with in-code documentation systems (such as Sphinx) •Expert capability in HTML, Photoshop or Illustrator, Office-style tools, and diagramming software
