Role Description

Technology Lead, Operating System Configuration Management is responsible for developing automation capabilities using Chef. The individual will design, implement and support configuration management blueprints to support enterprise technology platforms.  The individual will also be accountable for integrations with multiple infrastructure tools using enterprise integration patterns.

 

Technology Lead, Operating System Configuration Management will plan and release automation capabilities using agile/scrum methodology and will leverage a team of on-shore and off-shore developers. In addition, the technology lead should have hands on experience in continuous integration and continuous delivery technologies using Git/ Stash, Jenkins, Maven, Java, JavaScript, Python, Ruby and CHEF. 

 

Key responsibilities of this role include:

  • System administration of Redhat Linux and Microsoft Windows Server
  • Release operating system build
  • Hands-on development using test-driven development methodology
  • Hands-on development and support of Software Configuration Management tools like CHEF
  • Create, groom, develop and review stories in a continuous delivery model – Using tools like JIRA
  • Create technical designs and architectures to use technology to deliver high-level requirements
  • Contribute and review code repositories using source control (GIT/BitBucket)
  • Create, review and approve documentation supporting an SDLC (Software development Lifecycle) process
  • Create develop, document and execute test cases in quality environments
  • Support release management activities for new code deployments into quality and production environments.
  • Follow an ITIL framework to maintain a compliant and qualified environment

Qualifications
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree is required
  • 2+ years’ experience using CHEF, Puppet, Ansible, etc to release and maintain enterprise software platforms is required
  • 2+ years’ experience in Microsoft Windows Server or Redhat Linux Administration is required
  • Experience in GIT, Jenkins, Java, JavaScript, Python, Ruby, PowerShell, BASH languages
  • Strong technical background and experience in virtualization
  • Experience in working in a DevOps or Scrum methodology is preferred
  • Independent judgment and technical problem solving, decision-making strength is preferred
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills are preferred
  • Self-starter with strong teamwork abilities and customer service skills is preferred
  • Prior experience in supporting global operations preferred and following enterprise level process frameworks required. 
  • This position requires approximately 10% travel
