MetLife Direct is currently seeking a Sr. Quality Assurance Business Analyst to be a key member of MetLife Direct Testing team, responsible for providing quality assurance testing for systems used throughout the MetLife Enterprise. Candidate is interviewing for a full time position and the opportunity to become part of a growing, fast paced team. This individual will partner with the MetLife Direct PMO team, marketing, policy administration, and other members of the MetLife Direct organization, reporting to MetLife Direct Testing management. The candidate must be detail oriented, have some knowledge of life insurance, a working knowledge of quality assurance techniques and methods, be self-motivated, and a self-starter. The ideal candidate must possess the ability to multitask in a fast paced environment, and produce quality results.

The individual will be responsible for developing, maintaining and executing Test Plans and Test Matrices. As a Business Quality Assurance tester, thoroughly analyze test results; dissect potential defects with a focus on isolating problem areas, and documenting defects. This position is responsible for quality assurance testing of new functionality, enhancements to existing systems, and regression testing of multiple applications. This position interacts with actuarial, internal development, and external vendors. This position will also perform QA lead tasks, create benchmark test cases, and assist in production problem/ resolutions.

  1. Strong testing / QA acumen with competencies in the following areas:
    1. Developing test scripts / test plans – must have ability to translate business requirements into test scripts/test plans. Will be working with project managers, business analysts, IT team, and business subject matter experts to clarify requirements and receive approval for test scripts
    2. Leading test teams for large projects – working with junior testers and contractors to assign work for writing test cases, training on the relevant changes, and managing testing assignments
    3. Logging, tracking, and managing defects – through daily defect calls with IT and vendors, resolving complex issues, working with project manager and business analyst to identify missed requirements or possible change requests, and escalating priority defects
    4. Tracking and reporting testing status – through daily status reports, at daily testing stand up meetings, and at weekly project status meetings to senior level management

  • 7+ years of QA testing experience
  • Proficient in MS Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of testing procedures and tools of the discipline
  • Knowledge of the Systems Development Life Cycle
  • Experience with SQL queries
  • Experience with automated testing tools a plus
  • Experience with Quality Center, BluePrint, other testing software platforms
  • Experience working in large financial service organizations
  • Experience working with vendors and BPO
  • A Team player with positive attitude
  • Energetic and embodies the focus needed to help build a new business
