Position Summary: The Telemetry Tech performs assigned tasks and activities according to skill level and
Patient needs as assessed by the RN. The Telemetry Tech supports nursing personnel in providing care to patients and assists with providing a safe, quiet, clean, organized environment for healthcare delivery. When the need arises, will perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
q Telemetry Tech: Monitors and reports patients' cardiac rhythms and other monitored vital signs assuring a safe patient care environment.

A. Licensure/Certification/Registration: Nursing Assistant Certification or EMT Certification preferred, or have completed first year at an accredited Nursing program which included a medical/surgical rotation. BLS-Healthcare provider required.
q Must successfully pass competency EKG test within 3 months of hire.
C. Experience: Telemetry Tech experience required . One year hospital experience preferred. Competent skills to operate monitor systems and computer. Ability to interpret cardiac rhythms, heart rate, and arrhythmias and communicate abnormalities to nurses and physicians within a year of hire
D. Special Qualifications: Knowledge of basic clinical practices, procedures, and standards. Ability to work with others as a team to ensure quality patient care. Basic knowledge of computer systems and good interpersonal skills. Strong critical thinking skills. Must be flexible in job duties to meet patient care and team goals.
Degree of Supervision Required: Involves general guidance and direction by the Patient Care Director, Nurse Manager, Unit Charge Nurse or Staff RN. Employee will be expected to perform most job duties independently and in accordance with established departmental and hospital policies and procedures.
