In this management level commercial insurance sales role, you will be responsible for strategies and tactics to achieve commercial insurance sales goals for an assigned territory in the state of Virginia area. The Commercial Sales Manager supports our agency operations by building and implementing new business development plans, partnering with district managers and other key stakeholders to profitably achieve assigned goals, and working closely with individual agents and teams to strategically build sales for our commercial insurance products.
The ideal candidate will have at least 5 years of property & casualty marketing or sales experience; or five years of commercial underwriting experience. A background in commercial insurance will be key to your success.
All candidates must have a 4-year college degree and have or be actively pursuing a CPCU or CIC designation.
We seek a savvy marketer and excellent communicator with demonstrated knowledge of commercial insurance products, as well as good general knowledge or property & casualty and workers’ compensation insurance. Strong sales abilities and the ability to effectively analyze, interpret and communicate complex information is essential; you will assist agencies in the identification of prospective customers through recommendations of effective lead developing methods.
Additionally, you will follow up on identified quotes with underwriting to assure achievement of desired hit ratios, evaluating results on a monthly basis, recommending actions to correct deficiencies or to exploit market opportunities. The Territory Commercial Sales Manager establishes methods to gain knowledge and understanding of market conditions, product innovations and competitor’s products, prices and sales, as well as new regulatory and statutory requirements.
