The Test and Receipt Inspector is responsible for preparing, planning and performing inspections on all Safety Related nuclear plant related materials and components, and non-safety related items as required. This position evaluates documents and records in the Receiving Inspection Report and associated logs. Additionally, the Test and Receipt Inspector develops or assists in the development of test plans and performs special tests for the purpose of commercial grade dedication, Evaluates trends and coordinates the notification of vendors of symptomatic deficiencies and verifies the calibration and certification for all equipment used during receipt inspection.
Reports To: Supervisor – Warehouse Materials Services
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
1.)Evaluates documents and records results via completion of Receiving Inspection Report and associated logs.
2.)Performs special tests and inspections as specified by the Procurement Engineering Unit.
3.)Develops or assists in the development of test plans and performs special tests for the purpose of commercial grade dedication.
4.)Coordinates or witnesses completion of special inspections performed by another Company organization or an off-site testing facility, if required.
5.)Initiates, coordinates resolutions, and closes out receiving inspection deficiencies.
6.)Determines the extent of non-conformance issues, including potential impact and operating issues for items installed in the plant.
7.)Evaluates trends and as required coordinates the notification of vendors of symptomatic deficiencies.
8.)Verifies the calibration and certification for all equipment used during receipt inspection.
9.)Assures that all equipment is properly documented.
10.)Prepares additions or revisions to Receipt Inspection procedures.
11.)Performs routine surveillance activities in accordance with established procedures.
12.)Performs data entry into various corporate data bases.
13.)May perform material handling functions, including forklift, truck, and crane operations.
14.)May disassemble and re-assemble equipment to manufacturer’s specifications.
15.)May perform technical evaluation of shelf life & preventive maintenance.
16.)Write and review reports and references to support the performance of detailed analyses
•Knowledge of Nuclear Procurement practices with a demonstrated ability to interpret codes, standards, and purchase order specification requirements and verify compliance.
•Knowledge of plant components and systems.
•Certification as a Level II Receiving Inspector as per ANSI N45.2.6.
•Ability to verbally communicate complex issues clearly and concisely to assure understanding of identified issues and concerns.
•Basic electrical, mechanical and instrumentation & Control theories and blue print reading
•Maintain effective internal and external working relationships with multiple functional areas and levels of supervision.
•High School diploma or equivalent
•Minimum four years experience related to Quality Control Inspection practices as a Level II Inspector in accordance with ANSI N45.2.6 and/or the equivalent combination of formal education/training and experience with a minimum of 2 years practical experience in a mechanical, electrical, or electronics discipline.
1.Meet and maintain unescorted access requirements of a nuclear power plant including GET and FFD requirements.
2.Work additional hours to support ongoing plant operations and refueling outages.
3.Travel to other nuclear plants, vendor locations, and industry meetings, as requested.
4.Maintain regular and consistent work attendance as well as be available for on-call status.
5.Observe activities in a nuclear power plant environment, including adverse conditions including confined spaces, heights, extreme temperatures, and radiation.
6.Comply with industrial safety requirements and practices as well as identify and respond to encountered challenges to safe workplace conditions.
7.Qualify and accept assignment to an emergency response team, as needed.
8.Meet the requirements of Company and Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) psychological, drug, alcohol, and medical testing policies and/or regulations.
9.Satisfactorily complete General Orientation Training (GOT).
10.Satisfactorily complete radiation safety training (may include respirator qualifications), if required for job performance.
11.Satisfactorily complete required background checks.
