The successful Test Engineer Lead should be obsessed with quality improvement and highly committed to creating efficient automation processes for regression and feature testing.
Test Engineer - Responsibilities:
Work with business and development teams to understand product vision and requirements
Understand the app's feature set and develop QA approaches that account for spatial, visual, connection, and input issues
Automate tests to measure power usage, performance, and stability
Responsible for development of test strategies and creation of appropriate test harnesses that would account for real world situations
Oversee and report on the development and execution of test plans
Work with partners to build a strong team to ensure the highest quality product delivery
Lead the way for others in strategizing the test methodologies and creating tools to easily adjust testing techniques
Analyze test data and results and provide a meaningful report to take actions on
Oversee coordination and communication flow between various partners for successful delivery of the project
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent combination of technical education and experience
5+ years of industry experience, including hands-on testing and 3 year as a QA manager or lead
Proficient coding experience with Windows batch and/or Linux shell scripting
Coding automation experience in Java or Python
Knowledge of QA concepts and methodology
Experience in mobile/embedded software, Linux and Android
Preferred experience managing projects outsourced to external contractors and vendor teams
Hands on experience with at least one Mobile Automation framework like UI Automator, Robotium, Expresso, Appium, iOS Robot, XCText.
Extensive knowledge of Unix/Linux environments.
Deep knowledge of mobile internet technologies.
Excellent coding skills in C, C++, Java, or Python.
Hands on experience with device testing platforms like AppPurify or Testdroid.
Experience testing large / highly visible mobile applications or games
