Candidate must be able to work with a team of technical resources to carry out test requests from a Global Engineering Development team in the area of electrical and high power components. Must have a strong knowledge of electricity principals.
As the Test Lab Technician, you will:
+ Perform advanced technical functions relevant to the preparation and testing as specified by global test requests
+ Prepare test equipment in all electrical test labs for carrying out specific electrical tests with authority including but not limited to Calibration, Dielectric, Temperature Rise, Endurance, Short Circuit, etc with no voltage restrictions
+ Perform routine environmental tests including but not limited to Rain Tests, Temperature Tests, Humidity, etc.
+ Perform calculations / recording and tabulations of technical data and record them accordingly
+ Maintain applicable records: Review, troubleshoot and update Test Requests; input qualification records; and write laboratory reports as required
+ Maintain confidentiality in handling proprietary test data, formulations and data on patentable or other confidential items under development
+ Maintain laboratory equipment, supplies, and working area
+ Perform minor equipment calibration and repairs as needed
+ Perform work to EHS standards as required
+ Associate's Degree in Electrical or Industrial Engineering or equivalent technical degree
+ Minimum of 2 years of related technicial experience
+ Must have basic knowledge in the operation of electrical and electromechanical equipment
+ Knowledge of UL, CSA, and IEC testing standards are also desired, as the candidate will be performing specific tests that requires the interpretation and understanding of the different standards
+ Basic knowledge in the operation of electrical and electromechanical equipment
+ Basic knowledge of circuit theory and general electrical engineering principles
+ Self motivated and flexible; able to work under pressure to meet deadlines
+ Good communication skills, both verbal and written
+ Team player - able to work closely with the Lab team as well as internal customers globally
+ Ability to continue to develop electromechanical knowledge base and expertise for the betterment of the lab
+ Proficient in MS Office General Information
+ Limited travel may be required
