Hourly - Non Exempt (Eligible for Overtime) you are an employee and get paid for ALL hours worked, there is no such thing as "billable or non billable" hours. Job Summary:
*The Certified Social Worker is accountable for assessing the psychosocial situation of patients and/or family members and providing professional intervention.
*Assists in meeting social and emotional needs related to the patient's hospitalization.
*Accountable for adhering to ORMC mission by providing care to patients in a compassionate, caring and confidential manner, providing excellence in health care delivery, supporting dignity of all persons and taking responsibility for stewardship of resources.
*Meets the psychosocial needs of patients and family members through counseling and supervised psychotherapy as well as placement in or referral to community agencies, programs or facilities.
*Provides discharge planning and counseling services to all patients identified as needing this. Services are provided to children as well as adults, including adoption coordination and referral to child protective services.
*Maintains quality rapport with community agencies, hospital personnel and physicians through effective public relation and communication skills to achieve optimal and timely disposition for patients.
*Participates in supervision and training to increase skills and competency in carrying out interventions with patients and family members.
*Maintains statistical reports for accountability of activities in the department and with patients and family members.
*Develops and implements necessary patient support services to assist people in coping with aspects of their illness.
*Follows guidelines that maintain safety for oneself, patients, visitors and co-workers and if classified as a category I or II employee under OSHA regulations, adheres to OSHA standards by wearing personal protective equipment, following universal precautions and being knowledgeable about blood borne pathogens.
*Performs other duties as may be assigned.Qualifications:
- Current state licensure as a Social Worker required.
- Bachelor Degree in Social Work required.
- Master of Social Work preferred.
- 3 years social work experience preferred
