Trade Relations Negotiator

Position Summary:
The Trade Relations Negotiator is designed to assist the Senior Director and SVP of Trade Relations in the negotiation strategies with branded pharmaceutical manufacturers. You will lead rebate discussions and negotiations where the PBM has influence, providing input and recommendations for formulary strategies and positioning, and negotiating contracts that support those strategies.
Account responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Development of direct manufacturer relationships
  • Account management of one or more specific therapeutic areas
  • Direct accountability for the Rebate contracting with assigned manufacturers
  • A professional presence, solid presentation and communication skills are a requirement in engaging and interacting with manufacturers and internal partners.
A background in complex contract negotiations and demonstrated success in completion of contracts, leading multiple manufacturer relationships, and direct manufacturer discussions is required. You will serve as the PBM and Managed Care expertise, primarily focused on the management of pharmacy budgets related to manufacturers. A strategic vision, critical thinking, and creativity will aid in your success to lead several key business units across multiple locations. Your position is highly visible to senior executives as you will be responsible for negotiations on high-dollar contracts that contribute to the continued success of CVS Health.

Required Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 7 years experience in managed care which may include PBM, specialty pharmacy, or health plan practice.
  • 10-15% travel as necessary.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • 10+ Years of experience negotiating contracts in the Healthcare or PBM industry Master's Degree
  • Coordination of key decision makers and ability to elevate critical issues.

Bachelor's degree required or a combination of educational and business experience.
