Current Need
McKesson has an opening for a Training Instructor I in its Lewiston, Maine office.

Position Description

Responsible for conducting training courses for internal staff, both in a training classroom environment or one-on-one with floor staff; training may also take place via WebEx. The main functions of the position include but are not limited to:  


  • Provide training on multiple medical billing computer systems to new hires, existing employees, management, and clients
  • Provide new hire training to assist employees in acclimating to the medical billing profession and McKesson
  • Organize and develop, or obtain, training procedure manuals and guides and course materials such as handouts and visual materials, including the method, media, and documentation to be presented
  • Responsible for various reporting requirements, including gathering data such as testing scores
  • Interface with clients, learn and develop specifications for training implementations
  • Develop and document all workflow processes and procedures, as well as manage and maintain pathways
  • Coordinate all aspects of training activities with clients, management, and employees
  • Monitor, evaluate, or record training activities or program effectiveness as well as develop solutions to less-effective programs
  • Develop alternative training methods if expected improvements are not seen



Minimum Requirements

Entry level human resources or training experience

Critical Skills
Skillsets - Technology


  • MS Office including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and Outlook: Proficient
  • WebEx: ability to utilize or transfer skills from another distance learning tech
  •  Nice to have: adobe creative systems, use of projectors and LCD screens, printing
  • Prefer at least 1 year of medical billing / revenue cycle background
  • Ability to communicate well with an audience / customer base of people at all levels, including clerical staff and client executives
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to self-edit
  • Reading comprehension – ability to understand and make sense of written materials
  • Critical thinking – using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches
  • Judgment and decision making
  • Emotional intelligence – being aware of others’ reactions and understanding why they act the way they do as well as maintaining control over your own reactions in any given context
  • Possess project management skills and organizational skills, ability to research, review processes, plan and effectively manage time

4-year degree in human resources, business or related field and/or equivalent experience

Light travel to client locations is required from time to time
