Adecco Direct Hire is recruiting on behalf of our esteemed client in the Transformer Service Industry for the position of Transformer Field Service Technician. In this role, qualified candidates can reside anywhere on the East Coast. The Transformer Field Service Technician will travel up to 80% of the time, and must have experience performing wiring/control work, as well as oil processing. Overtime is offered in this role, and field service technicians will get double time for working weekends. Experience working with transformers is a necessity in this role, and a Class A CDL Operator's License is preferred, but not necessary. Company phone and laptop are provided. The duties and responsibilities of this role include the following: Overview: The Transformer Service Technician is a technical expert in assembly, maintenance, retrofit and repair of power transformers. He/She performs transformer service, repair and retrofit works on site. He/She performs site visits to assess the condition of transformers. He/She follows all customer guidelines as well as environmental, health and safety requirements in the field. Responsibilities: Consult customers with regard to technical requirements around power transformers, especially the retrofit of key components Perform power transformer oil processing incl. vacuum, oil filling, circulating and draining Perform internal confined space work on the transformer's active part incl. electrical leads modification Perform the replacement/retrofit of transformer components, such as load tap-changers, bushings, radiators, accessories as well as regasketing and leak repair Consult manuals, schematics, wiring diagrams and engineering personnel in order to troubleshoot and solve equipment problems and determine optimum equipment functioning Prepare and maintain reports detailing all tests, repairs, maintenance work etc. performed Requirements: GED or High School diploma Minimum 3 years of transformer field service experience in the utility/electrical energy industry, preferably on a journeyman substation electrician level Working knowledge to obtain and verify proper HV clearances as well as lock-out tag-out policies and procedures Knowledge, hands-on experience and strong understanding of the operation of power transformer oil processing equipment including the performance of vacuum, oil filling, circulating and draining Knowledge, hands-on experience and strong understanding of all standard transformer tests Knowledge to read and understand general arrangement drawings, electrical prints and one line diagrams as well as test data Basic computer skills (Excel, Outlook, Word) All current EHS certifications (OSHA, CPR, AED, HV Electrical Training) Additional requirements: Willingness to extensive travel (up to 80%) and non-standard schedules at field locations with exposure to varying environmental conditions Class A CDL operator's license required Basic knowledte to work with the MS Office suite A high level of motivation and the ability to work independently Qualified candidates are asked to send a Microsoft Word version of their resume to Bob Kalbaugh at email@example.com
