The St. David's Emergency Center in Leander will be a full-service freestanding emergency department that will serve as an extension of St. David's Round Rock Medical Center. Patients requiring inpatient care will be transported from the freestanding ED to Round Rock Medical Center. The ED will operate 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The Center will have 10 to 12 multipurpose exam rooms; a CT scanner; a diagnostic radiology machine; ultrasound, and its own stat lab for immediate, on-site results. The Center is expected to open December 1, 2017.
Provides health care services, using ultrasound to assist in diagnosis or treatment. Perform ultrasonic imaging and related procedures in one of the following areas: OB/GYN, abdomen, neurosonology, and/or opthamology. Demonstrates anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention by, or at the request of a licensed practitioner. Exercises professional judgement in performance of services and maintains a demeanor complementary to medical ethics. Applies appropriate patient care and recognizes patient conditions essential for successful completion of the procedure.
Required: Satisfactory completion of a formal Allied Health Professional Training in an AMA approved school for Diagnostic Medical Sonography.
Preferred: One to two years post graduate experience in the fiel of Ultrasound in an acute care setting. Advanced registries - i.e. vascular
Required: American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography or ARRT and eligible for registration by ARDMS Radiologic Technology. RVT and RDMS
Basic CPR certification required.
