Amgen's 10 - 12 week internship program offers meaningful project experiences that impact patient's lives. This internship provides the opportunity for executive and social networking events and to participate in community volunteer projects while providing a competitive compensation. Limited relocation housing and/or transportation allowance may be available for eligible candidates.
This position provides the opportunity to work directly with Information Systems staff supporting bulk drug substance operations.
Coaching, mentorship, and guidance will be provided to staff as they engage in the following responsibilities:
Meets with business clients (manufacturing, supply chain, quality) and gathers requirements to deliver solutions that provide value
Documents existing IS systems and the relationships between the systems
Designs and creates analytical dashboards to provide information for business decisions
Prepares a Road-Show presentation to present IS offerings to business clients
Performs authorship of requirements and design documents within the EDM Quality System
Ensures that documentation aligns with procedural and template requirements
Learns the best practices to be a business analyst and understands the development lifecycle
Completes required assigned training to permit execution of required tasks
Supports continual improvement initiatives, programs and projects
Basic Qualifications
Amgen requires that all individuals applying for an undergraduate internship or an undergraduate co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria:
18 years or older
Currently enrolled in a full time Bachelor's Degree program from an accredited college or university with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent
Completion of one year of study from an accredited college or university prior to the internship commencing
Enrolled in a full time Bachelor's or Combined Bachelor's/Master's degree program following the potential internship or co-op assignment with an accredited college or university
Must not be employed at the time the internship starts
Preferred Qualifications
Degree concentration(s) in Information Systems, Informatics, or Data Science
GPA 3.5 or higher
Proven leadership experience (e.g., projects, jobs, clubs, organizations, sports, etc.)
Knowledge of MS Office Applications (Word, Excel)
Knowledge of SQL, data model
