Amgen's 10 - 12 week internship program offers meaningful project experiences that impact patient's lives. This internship provides the opportunity for executive and social networking events and to participate in community volunteer projects while providing a competitive compensation.
This position provides the opportunity to work directly with Facilities and Engineering staff supporting bulk drug substance operations and maintenance.
Coaching, mentorship, and guidance will be provided to staff as they engage in the following responsibilities:
Evaluate Equipment Preventative Maintenance Program and development Quick Reference (QR) Code content
SharePoint Site Development and Improvements
Revise Job Plans, assets, spare parts lists, min/max levels, level classifications and prepare Administrative Asset Entries for Maximo updates
Assess Mean Time Between Failure to identify opportunities for improvement and make recommendations
Review Cost of Maintenance for Systems and Lean Maintenance Opportunities (PM frequency adjustment, eliminate non value added tasks)
Identify Product Contact Spares and Alternate Suppliers
Perform Equivalency Assessment for replacement parts
Analyze Data to support conversion from Time Based Maintenance to Meter Based Maintenance
Become familiar with predictive maintenance tools such as vibration analysis.
Witness preventative maintenance activities and participate in troubleshooting
Support continual improvement initiatives, programs and projects
Other tasks as assigned
Basic Qualifications
Amgen requires that all individuals applying for an undergraduate internship or an undergraduate co-op assignment at Amgen must meet the following criteria:
18 years or older
Currently enrolled in a full time Bachelor's Degree program from an accredited college or university with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent
Completion of one year of study from an accredited college or university prior to the internship commencing
Enrolled in a full time Bachelor's or Combined Bachelor's/Master's degree program following the potential internship or co-op assignment with an accredited college or university
Must not be employed at the time the internship starts
Preferred Qualifications
Degree concentration(s) in Mechanical, Chemical or Electrical Engineering
GPA 3.5 or higher
Proven leadership experience (e.g., projects, jobs, clubs, organizations, sports, etc.)
Knowledge of MS Office Applications (Visio, Word, Excel)
Strong analytical skills with attention to detail
Effective communication and organizational skills
Experience with SharePoint
