Provide strategic planning, innovative solutions and technical knowledge in order to design, implement and support Dell IT's Global Unified Communications enterprise and related technologies. Take the lead on projects from initiation to completion. Perform requirements analysis and develop hardware/software solutions to provide Unified Communications platforms that support business requirements. Coordinate and review the installation of hardware, implementation of software, reviewing management and monitoring tools. Prepare and maintain architectural guidelines and associated documentation. Create and maintain technical roadmaps.
**Principal Duties and Responsibilities:**
‒ Stays abreast of current and emerging unified communications solutions making recommendations based on in-depth knowledge and research
‒ Interfaces with global providers to assess advanced and emerging solutions
‒ Responsible for developing in-depth business cases to support technical recommendations
‒ Readily shares information with others, actively seeks customer input, takes direct responsibility for complex customer situations
‒ Contributes to process improvements, identifies inefficiencies, develops policies and procedures
‒ Works on unusually complex problems and provides solutions, which are highly innovative
‒ Collaborates with other Dell IT cross-functional groups and other engineering and architecture groups
‒ Defines architecture and standards for complex global unified communications infrastructures
‒ Presents technical strategies to a variety of audiences including Customers, Executives, Peers and Support Staff
‒ Works closely with Service Owners to translate business needs into technical solutions
‒ Designs and implements high level architecture for Voice, Video and Conferencing services
‒ Works with project team members and other internal teams to deliver projects
‒ Bachelor’s degree (technical) with 10+ years relevant experience
‒ Possesses strong Unified Communications product/technology/industry knowledge and trends
‒ Understands pros and cons of different Unified Communications tools
‒ Experience with Microsoft (e.g. Skype for Business/Lync)
‒ Ability to articulate technical solutions to both technical and non-technical audiences
‒ Strong communication skills
‒ Mentoring/Coaching skills
‒ Master’s degree (technical)
‒ Experience integrating new systems/tools
‒ Broader experience working with a variety of Unified Communications tools beyond Microsoft (e.g. Avaya, SAP, Cisco)
