Depending on experience, the wage range is $14.00 - $24.00 hourly.
Position Summary
This position produces sewn pieces used in the construction of upholstery for dental chairs and stools. In addition to sewing, assists in preparing and cutting materials used for upholstery assemblies. Inspects materials and finished product to ensure quality standards are maintained.
Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
¿ Draw cutting lines on material following patterns, templates, sketches, or blueprints, using chalk, pencils, paint, or other methods.
¿ Measure and cut new covering materials, using patterns and measuring and cutting instruments, following sketches and design specifications.
¿ Operates a single and double needle sewing machine to stitch fabric used in upholstering dental chairs and stools.
¿ Assists Upholsterers with general labor as needed in the production of upholstery sets.
¿ Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness, looks for ways to improve and promote quality, applies feedback to improve performance, monitors own work to ensure quality.
¿ Conserves resources by using equipment and supplies as needed to accomplish job results.
¿ Documents actions by completing production and quality forms accurately; complying with policies and procedures.
¿ Follows all processes and procedures related to the materials system including the Kanban system, production order process and Lean processes.
¿ Achieves and maintain production levels in 90 percent of the products in the assigned team at or above production expectations.
¿ Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with all procedures, rules and regulations.
¿ Uses proper lifting techniques and follows safe work procedures at all times.
¿ Other duties as assigned.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
¿ Ability to interpret patterns and measurements
¿ Ability to become proficient in using sewing machines and tools
¿ Experience working in a manufacturing environmentEducation and/or Experience
¿ High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
¿ Ability to read and comprehend written procedures in English

¿ The noise level in the work environment is moderate, with occasional increase in noise during peak production hours.
¿ Ability to lift up to 40lbs. Able to use hand tools such as staple guns and other production equipment as needed. Occasional lifting and/or pushing of carts with product to other work stations or shipping. Requires ability to tightly stretch various fabrics over upholstery frames, while maintaining consistent quality.
