Johnson & Johnson Consumer Products Company Division of Johnson & Johnson Consumer Companies is currently recruiting for a US Consumer Brand Public Relations Manager, to be located in Skillman, NJ with the possibility of working remote up to 60% of the time. Physical presence at the Skillman, NJ location will be required 2 days per week.

The portfolio includes heritage brands JOHNSON'S® Baby and BAND-AID® Brand, as well as leading skin care brands such as AVEENO® and CLEAN & CLEAR®.

The US Consumer Brand Public Relations Manager is responsible for overseeing the Public Relations and Influencer Marketing strategies for Aveeno, Le Petit Marseillais, RoC, Women’s Rogaine, Rogaine and Lubriderm with the goal of driving net reach, share of media voice and Earned Media Value (EMV). This position requires a strong communicator with extensive experience managing external Brand PR and influencer-based programs for beauty brands, and the ability to work in a fast-paced, highly-matrixed organization.


• Oversee the development and implementation of Public Relations and Influencer Marketing strategies for Aveeno, Le Petit Marseillais, RoC, Women’s Rogaine, Rogaine and Lubriderm in partnership with Marketing, Retail, and Social Media teams

• Provide strategic counsel to the Marketing teams in relation to the management and implementation of PR agencies tactical plans and manage assigned PR budgets in the range of $4M+

• Manage the development and implementation of the Hispanic Public Relations strategy and tactical plan for Aveeno

• Lead the ideation and implementation of Influencer programs supporting the Beauty East brands in US to drive EMV; work closely with social media team to co-collaborate with the right Influencers to create content that not only drives EMV, but also moves brand metrics

• Support the global Influencer Marketing team in the development and execution of strategy globally, identify opportunities for scale across markets, and share key learnings from US

• Oversee the Influencer Networks for the Beauty East brands and manage the selection of media and influencers that our brands partner/work with

• Lead PR driven talent relationships and talent-focused PR activities for Beauty East brands

• Provide PR counsel to the Neostrata and OGX brands as needed

• Lead measurement for JNJ Beauty PR by managing the monthly reporting compiled by the PR agencies, assisting in the roll-out of new measurement tools, and providing recommendations to Marketing on ways to optimize plans based on key learnings

• Develop and maintain strong working relationships with cross-functional internal and external partners (e.g., marketing, professional, R&D, sales, digital, social, e-commerce, etc.) and act as lead PR counselor

• Identify opportunities to secure key business and trade media coverage for Beauty East brands

• Oversee the Beauty Leadership external visibility programs for our Beauty East leaders in marketing, R&D and digital and prepare leaders for media opportunities and external events

• Elevate PR and Influencer work supporting Beauty East brands internally, and partner with JNJ Content Lab to elevate brand equity and priority product campaigns externally

• Develop partnerships with third party organizations and professionals (e.g., dermatologists) as needed and manage contracting and internal approvals

• Collaborate with other Brand Public Relations and Consumer Sector public relations colleagues

• Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree or equivalent is required

• An advanced degree or equivalent certificate in Communications is preferred

• Minimum of six (6) years of experience in Communications/Public Relations with a focus on managing external Communications programs for beauty brands and/or within consumer packaged goods at a corporate environment or public relations agency is required

• Minimum of two (2) years of consumer products group experience is required

• Previous or current experience in public relations/communications within the Beauty Industry is preferred

• Strong understanding and experience with influencer marketing developing and executing social influencer campaigns is required

• Experience working in a global function and demonstrated understanding of global organization issues with the ability to navigate ambigious situations is preferred

• Exceptional writing and communication skills are required

• Proven ability to develop successful working relationships with senior executives is preferred

• Significant experience dealing with national and local media, trade and social media, and/or professional/trade and third-party organizations is required

• Experience in managing large budgets of $1 Million or more is preferred

• Able to serve as a Trusted advisor who demonstrates expert judgement in critical decision making on issues impacting corporate reputation is preferred

• Experience working in a fast paced matrix environment and driving results through influence is preferred

• This position will be primarily located in Skillman, NJ with the possibility of working remote up to 60% of the time and will require up to 5% domestic travel.
