What do you get to do in this position?
This role is responsible for administering payroll for our US based employee population of 21,000 people. The role requires detail orientation, the ability to multitask, and agility to move in a fast paced environment. A successful candidate
will have a customer centric approach and the ability to create and maintain excellent working relationships with our
employees and vendors.
Essential Functions:
- Administers Hourly and Salary payroll for up to 21,000 salaried and hourly employees in US.
- Ensure payroll is processed accurately by reviewing and balancing hours and pay for Salaried and Hourly employees
- Acts as a resource to employees and managers or respective payroll areas, regarding payroll inquiries
- Ensures pay registers, direct deposits, checks and various labor reports are accurate and distributed in a timely fashion
as per our payroll reporting processes.
- Ensures interpretation of requirements imposed through legislation, collective agreements and company policies are
implemented and adhered to appropriately
- Enters Employee information and prepares imports into the payroll systems, including new hire information, Employee
changes, deductions, and adjustments
- Conducts payroll calculations on specific topics which may require expertise. Ex: Dismissal payments, replacement
checks, termination pays, lump sum payments
- Assists with ad hoc departmental projects
- Performs other duties as requested by Manager
Qualifications - External
This job might be for you if:
· College degree preferred/ or equivalent experience
·3-5 year experience in Payroll Operations or Customer Service
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
· Versatility and ability to prioritize, work independently and meet deadlines.
· Ability to maintain excellent working relationship with people, both inside and outside of the company.
