User Experience Researchers at Brighthouse Financial work on projects for both major consumer-facing and financial advisor-facing platforms. We work collaboratively with senior leadership, brand teams, sales, and product marketers to develop insights that will guide decisions for creating engaging, useful, and customer-focused experiences for the next generation of financial services. As a part of our team, you’ll provide key user experience research deliverables that will impact all aspects of our design, discovery, and user experience.

 

The ideal candidate is passionate and deeply committed to the evangelizing for the customer. You’ll ensure our stakeholders have a connection to our customers through our Customer Community, designed to build and improve a deep customer understanding and empathy. You’ll be able to easily flow between exploratory, generative and evaluative research, providing well-rounded insights and actionable recommendations. Lastly, you’ll conduct research and testing efforts, including planning, execution, analysis and dissemination.

  • Manage our third party Customer Community platform for financial advisors and consumers.
  • Champion the needs of all customer groups and use that knowledge to help influence business strategies and design decisions.
  • Work in partnership with brand researchers and web analysts to create comprehensive and coordinated research strategies that triangulate data from different sources/methods to develop recommendations.
  • Foster collaboration with designers, product managers, marketers and sales teams to translate insights into actionable recommendations that inform execution.
  • Identify key research and experience analysis objectives.
  • Design and implement a variety of UX research qualitative & quantitative methods including: benchmark testing, contextual inquiry, card sorting, focus groups, remote testing, surveys, task analysis, field studies, questionnaires, competitive analysis, heuristic evaluations.
  • Design creative and compelling deliverables, focused on visually telling the story, and actionable recommendations and highlighting important insights.
  • Synthesize and analyze data and findings, highlighting important insights, outputs and frameworks.
  • Present work to multiple teams and leaders, across the organization and outside where required.

 

  • Bachelor's degree or relevant work experience in UX Research or any other related field of expertise.  
  • Practical understanding of traditional and innovative research methods, UX methodology and design thinking.
  • A strong portfolio that demonstrates not only your processes and thinking but tells the story of how you were integral to the overall design process, demonstrating sound UX principles and research processes including research objectives, study plans, reports, and derived outcomes. 
  • Ability to influence and guide others on the value and importance of user centered thinking and research.
  • Strong verbal and written communication with the ability to effectively articulate and communicate vision, possibilities, and outcomes across all levels in the organization.
  • Strong conceptual thinking.
  • A high level of curiosity.
  • A mature toolkit of both qualitative and quantitative methodologies.
  • Open to change and continuous improvement.
  • Ability to contribute ideas and execute the ideas of others quickly and competently
  • Strong teamwork skills.
  • Strong understanding of User Center Design Processes and Methodologies.
  • A capacity for constant learning from both success and failure.
  • Exposure to the local startup landscape.
  • Insurance or Financial Services industry experience including B2B and B2C.
