The Retirement Plan Strategies (RPS) Leader is responsible for a team of actuarial consultants within the Full Service Solutions (FFS) team. The leader is responsible for a consulting practice proactively serving the needs of FFS clients, while also generating a healthy profit margin, acquiring and developing talent, and assisting in the success of internal business partners. The leader oversees a team of ~60 associates, concentrated in Hartford with staff also in Chicago. The role reports to the leader of Client Relationships and Business Development (CRBD) and the position is located in Hartford.

Additional Responsibilities:
  • Support the development and the delivery of a market-leading actuarial consulting services across defined benefit, defined contribution and nonqualified programs in an ever changing environment
  • Proactively identify and collaborate on business opportunities across Prudential Financial Inc.
  • Positively impact client satisfaction and profitable persistency of the FSS book of existing relationships and contribute, when necessary, to issue resolution for clients and intermediaries

Qualifications:
The ideal candidate will possess the following skills and credentials:

  • 10 years of proven management experience leading people and business initiatives
  • 10 years of experience as a consultant with success in managing a book of business
  • Demonstrated accomplishments in working across different functions within an enterprise; including sales, key account management, and senior management, in order to drive outcomes that increase customer satisfaction and produce larger customer relationships
  • Experience communicating complex issues to proactively resolve, develop and deliver optimal outcomes
  • Working knowledge of the rules and regulations impacting the sponsorship of qualified and nonqualified retirement programs
  • Experience in building strong relationships with all levels of management while simultaneously challenging the status quo
  • Well-developed leadership, management, and strategic-thinking skills, with the ability to excite and lead others in a highly collaborative environment
  • Experience in developing and executing an integrated talent management strategy with a specific focus on deep and narrow technical expertise
  • Demonstrated experience in engaging individuals and organizational partners through change to achieve and sustain business results and outcomes
  • Bachelor ' s degree required; MBA or similar preferred
  • ASA/EA or CFA a plus but not required; FSA preferred
