We are seeking a Visual Designer within the Brighthouse Financial Experience Design Team in Charlotte, NC. The ideal candidate is someone who can conceptualize and implement quickly, independently or collaboratively. This candidate designs for a variety of platforms and screen sizes, which may include Internet and intranet sites.

 

Annuities and Life Insurance producers and consumers are rapidly adopting online & mobile tools to learn about financial products and solutions. Those interactions often span multiple communications channels (email, web, mobile, social, print and direct contact), across devices and locations.

 

The Interaction Design (IxD) team is responsible for the end to end design & creation of online experiences for customers and advisors including but not limited to, websites, interactive sales tools, and mobile solutions.

 

This team’s primary objective is to make interfaces relevant and usable. IxD marries personality with each interaction story, creating a system with which users make an emotional connection.  Blending analysis and creativity – working between artistry and engineering – Interaction Design concepts muster team consensus around what to build via the user interface layer.

 

 

  • Creates concepts, artwork and layouts for digital projects based on creative briefs and business objectives.
  • Collaborates with team members and other creative roles, including Project Managers to solve complex problems with simple engaging and elegant solutions.
  • Understands web design issues, including browser usability and cross-platform compatibility and works through problems or road blocks through investigation and iteration whether for an icon or an entire online experience
  • Create high fidelity mockups and prototypes.
  • Keeps up with the evolving landscape of available tools, technologies and resources as well as maintaining a positive energetic approach to the practice of design.

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in BS/BA Graphic Design or Visual Communications or any other related field of expertise
  • A healthy User Experience background with 3-5 years of experience
  • Strong design and troubleshooting skills, as well as an exceptional eye for detail
  • A strong portfolio that demonstrates not only your stellar designs, processes, and thinking but tells the story of how you were integral to the overall design process
  • An intimate knowledge of industry tools, and solid understanding of designing intuitive site functionality, interaction, site architecture, user interfaces, and navigation.
  • Strong conceptual thinking and a high level of curiosity
  • Expert Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite with focus on design/layout applications
  • Experience with Responsive design, HTML, Sass/CSS skills and Insurance industry are a plus.
