Role Summary:

The VMC Setup Operator- 3rd Shift will conduct set-ups on regular basis, make mechanical repairs and adjustments to machines as needed and read blueprints and job orders to determine product specifications and tooling instructions.

Essential Responsibilities:

As the VMC Setup Operator - 3rd Shift, you will:

+ Use analytical thinking to troubleshoot problems

+ Use precision measuring instruments

+ Perform complicated staging set up

+ Perform mechanical / controls adjustments

+ Direct the work of others and provide leadership in a team environment

+ Conduct set ups on regular basis and makes mechanical repairs and adjustments to machines

+ Conduct regular quality checks to ensure compliance to prescribed specification

+ Read blueprints and job orders to determine product specifications and tooling instructions and to plan operational sequences

+ Preform standard work per the quality work plans

+ Generate ideas on a weekly basis

+ Participate in team based improvement activities

+ Active participation in standard work revisions

Qualifications/Requirements:

+ High School Diploma / GED

ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

+ Ability and willingness to work 3rd shift hours

+ Ability and willingness to lift 40 pounds throughout the day

Desired Characteristics:

+ Associates Degree in Precision Machining, Metal Removal Technology, Machine Tool Technology or similar degree

+ Prior manufacturing / industrial experience

+ Able to interpret Manufacturing instructions

+ Mechanical aptitude

+ Able to do shop math

+ Able to interpret shop blueprints

+ Strong safety, attendance and performance record

+ Strong oral and written communication skills

+ Ability to work well with others

+ Self-Directed Team Player

+ Proper nomenclature for tooling
