Airgas USA LLC-National Welders", the leading distributor of compressed gases and welding supplies has an OUTLOOK® VMI Service Technician position available.
Job Summary:
Under the general supervision of the OUTLOOK ® VMI Services Technical Coordinator, the OUTLOOK ® VMI Services Technician is responsible for managing inventory at the customer's stocking locations within their facilities, including ordering product, adjusting min/max ordering levels, cleaning and organizing customer bins, selling new and additional products, handling customer concerns and questions, assisting customers in taking inventory, loading and unloading truck, maintaining vehicle, following all applicable SOP's, completing all required documentation, may be required to back up other drivers. Errors may have negative consequences on customer relations and have a medium level of financial impact to the organization
Essential Functions:
  • Upload, deliver and download safely to customer stocking locations
  • Clean and organize customer bins
  • Order all product as needed and adjust min/max inventory levels as necessary
  • Communicate in person with customers, providing information on cost, ordering and delivery times, etc.
  • Maintain load manifests and all other vehicle documents, ensuring they are properly completed and balanced with truck counts and shipping documents before and after deliveries.
  • Operate a forklift, pallet jack and other warehouse equipment.
  • Ensure all safety rules are strictly observed.
  • Maintain appropriate drivers' license.
Additional Responsibilities:
  • Actively support a "Safety First" culture.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned

Qualifications:
Education and Experience:
  • High level of proficiency with computers
  • Current drivers license with good driving record.
  • Ability to read and comprehend materiel safety data sheets.
  • Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Must be able to work overtime, when necessary.
  • Must be able to work with a wide variety of people with different personalities and backgrounds.
  • High school diploma or equivalent Preferred.
  • Must be able to operate in a drug-free workplace
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, self-starter, self-motivated, sense of urgency, personable, extroverted personality, well organized, ability to achieve goals, ability to focus and pay attention to detail.
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical solutions.
  • Ability to read, speak, write, spell and understand the English language.
  • Ability to read and comprehend material safety data sheets.
  • Must be able to work with a wide variety of people with different personalities and backgrounds.
  • Must be able to work outdoors in varying temperatures.
  • Must be able to operate in a drug-free, tobacco-free workplace
  • Knowledge of corresponding geographical area

  • Ability to routinely lift 25 - 50 lbs, and occasionally lift 51 - 80 lbs.
  • Ability to occasionally more, with a cart, cylinders up to 800 lbs.
  • Must be able to drive for up to 8 hours; Frequent bending, stooping, crouching, reaching, grasping, feeling and repetitive motion also required.
  • Ability to perform work with occasional climbing, balancing, kneeling, crawling, pushing, pulling and finger activities.
  • Specific vision abilities to include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to focus objects.
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) often required by our customers to access refineries and chemical plants, and other hazardous areas. Equipment may include FRC suits, steel-toed work shoes, hard hats, eye protection, gloves, and ear plugs. During some detailed site audits, this equipment may be worn up to 8 hours per day for up to two weeks at a time.
  • Ability to move throughout a typical refinery, chemical plant, or large office structure such as a hospital or university on foot for up to 8 hours a day, sometimes for weeks at a time.
