POSITION: VP, Expense Center of Excellence & Financial Shared Services

 

LOCATION: –Tampa, Florida

 

The Expense Center of Excellence encompasses Enterprise Expense Allocations, Enterprise Expense Reporting, Inter-Company Accounting/Reporting, Transfer Pricing Accounting/Reporting and  Global Technology & Operations Support Reporting. They are responsible for over $3 billion of annual Corporate Overhead as well as reporting on over $10 billion of annual direct expenses. The Shared Services Group has responsiblity for the continuous drive and evaluation of costs of doing business in order to help cope with shifts in the market environment. This position ensures that the company is making intelligent and sustainable cuts, that do not impacting the health of the business while helping to identify which expenses are expendable because they don’t add value. It has been designed to continue with our efforts to implement a global shared service strategy to leverage scale advantages and drive process and technology standardization across the enterprise.  The unit is also responsible for global governance as well as the accounting; reporting and disclosure related activities associated with these Centers of Excellence (CoE) under this team’s umbrella

CANDIDATE QUALIFICATIONS:

 

  • Full people management responsibility, including hiring, firing, promotions, performance and compensation management, and training and development.

  • Requires 15+ years of experience in a public or private company environment with 7-10 years leading people/projects.

  • Very strong interpersonal, presentation, organizational, analytical, and project management skills.

  • Ability to modify and develop new accounting policies and procedures to meet specialized needs.

  • B.A. / B.S. degree in accounting or finance is required.  Advanced degree in Business Administration, Finance,  and or CPA is preferred.

  • Strong knowledge of financial accounting, finance operations and associated business processes.

  • Highly proficient in use of computerized financial reporting systems.

  • Must continually meet established deadlines.

  • A very strong background in accounting and financial reporting (GAAP and/or Statutory). A strong understanding of business initiatives and ability to integrate corporate-wide accounting and business knowledge into broader based strategies.

  • Strong knowledge of financial accounting, finance operations and associated business processes.

  • Advanced program/project management and meeting facilitation skills.

  • Demonstrated experience leading large scale project implementations involving IT and business.

  • Insurance experience in P&C and/or Life is most helpful

  • Strong record of success in leading business growth with significant P&L responsibility.

  • Accomplished change management leader, able to operate effectively in a highly matrix environment

Key Relationships:

Reports to: Senior Vice President, Financial Operations & External Reporting

Direct Reports: 7 with team of 35 - 40 total

Other Key Stakeholders:  FACT Leadership, Regional and Functional CFO’s Management reporting, Senior Functional Leaders, Regional Finance Teams, Functional EG Leaders and respective Chiefs of Staff
