The CIO, Digital Engineering will define and execute the IT strategy across the GE Healthcare Imaging, UltraSound and LifeCare Solutions Engineering function. S/he will translate concepts, develop transformational strategy, implement change, create and drive programs responsive to external marketplace needs, and participate in cross-functional business and cultural development. A critical element of the role will be to deploy Model Based Enterprise concepts in support of the Digital Thread/Twin.
Our new CIO - Digital Engineering / VP - Enterprise Application Engineering will serve as a key member of the senior-management team on both the Information Technology and key Engineering functional leadership teams.
In addition, s/he will:
+ Lead the creation and change management of a fully functionalized Digital Engineering IT organization, aligned with Engineering, focused on enabling outcomes of Engineering - cost reduction, efficiencies, speed to market, reuse and simplification across the GEHC P&Ls.
+ Influence Modality leaders and KOLs to define and execute a short term and midterm digital technology and capabilities engineering strategy across GEHC.
+ Identify and ensure common NPI process, design standards that are modality agnostic, where appropriate, but will drive engineering efficiencies and reduce 'time to value' and cost for NPIs. Differentiate where appropriate between Diagnostic Imaging & Flow business based on speed required.
+ Drive strategy and execution toward a common set of tools across all CTO organizations centered around a PLM strategy that is the single source of truth across the enterprise for product definition, attributes and structure.
+ Drive 3D standards and revision controls, integration of design outputs with PLM.
+ Partner with Digital Product CIO to implement model-based design and model-based enterprise pilots and mature offerings to become standard (enabling collaboration with suppliers, timely data access for manufacturing, enabling service installation & support).
+ Develop a strong/empowered "super user community" and/or "CTO/engineering council" across engineering groups in conjunction with the Imaging CTO. This council will drive and influence simplification improvements within the Engineering function. Includes CTOs across Imaging, LCS and Ultrasound. Partner with Digital (HCIT) Software CTO as appropriate to ensure strategy alignment.
+ Working with Digital Product CIO/team, ensure clarity of data ownership and governance around product definitions and structure across the thread.
+ Drive the prioritization, budgeting and resource planning of IT work to support engineering business objectives and key initiatives for regions and across the P&Ls. • Drive global deployment and adoption of engineering solutions across GEHC.
+ Determine engineering-wide information and technology needs, then define and lead implementation and maintenance strategies to meet those needs for existing and acquired businesses
+ Be responsible for improving IT operational excellence and controlling costs for the function globally
+ Be responsible for management activities including recruiting, development, performance management, compensation, organization and teaming
+ Lead a growing IT organization of approximately 100 (40/45 GE/60 contracted) resources in the effective and on-going integration, implementation and maintenance of information technology within engineering; manage 6 direct reports
+ Develop, mentor, and lead a diverse employee base; hire and retain exceptional talent
+ Effectively monitor and control costs in the organization
+ Assure quality products by providing leadership to the organization in total management quality techniques• Demonstrate the highest levels of leadership integrity, openness, compliance and honesty in all business interactions
+ Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems, Information Technology (IT), Computer Science, Engineering or related field of study
+ Minimum 10 years' experience in Engineering and Information Technology, ideally in a Regulated (FDA) environment
+ Minimum 8 years' managerial experience relating to system design and development within the Engineering function, preferably with Model Based Enterprise deployment experience
+ Experience leading large scale organizational change and successfully managing through business transformation
+ Experience in planning, designing, building and managing large scale IT operations
+ Previous experience leading global teams in a large matrix organization
+ Demonstrated ability to develop and position IT strategy and influence business partners; executive-level presentation skills
+ Experience with acquisition integration
+ Master's Degree in Business Administration from an accredited college or university
+ Six Sigma Black Belt / Master Black Belt certification or quality certification
+ Ability to set own action plans and be proactive
